I had received a letter from the DEC months ago stating the the Bowhunter Sighting Log was being discontinued . They said they didn't have enough participants to continue the program . I called the Avon office and left a message and never heard from them . My message stated that had any of us known this , we could have canvassed Bow hunters and gotten more participants .
Well ......... today I received a Bowhunter Sighting Log for this coming season . Did anyone else get this in the mail ?

I was unaware of the Log. how can I participate?

I used to E-mail Charlie Alsheimer what i saw during the rut because I hunt in Steuben county A LOT, and thats where a large portion of his program takes place. There are many hunters contributing to his studies down there in that part of the state. Pretty cool to feel like you're a part of not only improving our deer herd, but UNDERSTANDING their behavior. Makes us all better hunters

I'd like to know more about that log...Good luck this year

The only possibility I know is to contact your local DEC office . When they decided to continue the program , they should have done it sooner and notified past participants who could have contacted fellow bow hunters .
