I only hunt central Indiana but I am sure that the deer hunting is about the same, except for the size of the hills. Deer will respond to rattling, grunting, estrous doe calls and scents not not consistently. I personally have about a 25% success rate with grunting, calling and scents and about 10% with rattling but timing is absolutely everything when it comes to the success of these items. In southern Indiana, look for the bucks to start chasing does heavy the first week of November so I would try all of these techniques starting next week sometime. At this point, I am still seeing all of the deer keying on food sources but that will begin to change soon. And that's when it gets exciting.... Good luck.

Glad to talk to all of you, but I'd rather be sitting in a tree stand on a cool morning trying not to move so that the bruiser buck directly below me doesn't figure out that I am watching him!
