We have a small piece of land adjacent to 1200 acres public land and shot some (and missed more) real nice bucks for years. Funny thing is all the locals said the areas we hunted were void of deer. We never told them different as we were on the opposite side of the area where "all the good deer were"! We now have access to several farms only we have permission to hunt so we haven't hunted there lately but im sure if you go far off the main drag you will find where the big boys are. Picekd a great week, I never miss november 10-15. Always seem to do well.  Good luck

How about some rut reports? Anybody seeing any sighns of increasing activity yet? I still am only seeing small bucks on scrapes and following does. What's going on in your neck of the woods?

I just started seeing scrapes within the past two days with big and small hoof marks. I don't know if you read my post when I got my 10 pntr. , but he half heartedly followed a estrouse doe trail. The six pntr. with him was not interested in the trail. I've read that older bucks and older doe s sometimes start a little early as built in way of passing on the better gene pool. --WORKS FOR ME!!!!![:)]

Finally saw the big mature ten, he came out of a CREP field around 6:20pm yesterday worked a scrape for about 10 minutes and went back into the CREP and vanished. Seeing a few scrapes and lots of rubs. I plan on heading out again tuesday evening

Did not hunt today but my father called and said he watched a real big 8 basically dig a basement making a scrape and tearing up trees this morning.  Things seem to be heating up, hopefully this warm weather this week doesn't hang them up.

I went out with my wife in the morning a saw 3 does at about 80 yrds. at around 8:15a.m. . No chance for a shot.

The wife and I went out this eve. Didn't see a thing. The temps. were upper 50's. It may have been a little to warm.

I'm not seeing a whole lot of rut sign, found a pretty fresh rub line and a small scrape but other than that nothing. Watched 7 does in a winter wheat field tonight for about 30 min not a buck in sight. However had a buddy tell me he seen a nice buck with a doe chasing off smaller bucks so my guess is its starting in some places and it shouldn't be long now.

I went out Sunday(Nov 1) and saw a nice 140" but couldn't get him closer than 50 yrds.  He came in about 20 min behind 3 does with his nose to the ground at 7:20 AM.  I had out a decoy and grunted at him but he spooked and took off, my best guess is that he recently got beat up and wasn't up to the challenge??  That evening I had a four point attack my decoy, it was pretty funny.  When he left I still had 2 hours of shooting light so I set my decoy back up and reassembled it but did not see any more deer.

As far as the rut, you should start seeing things by now. My buddy at work was out Tues. eve.(11/3) and had two bucks following a trail from two does that went by him 10 min. earlier. I took my 7yr. old daughter out for a walk in an orchird and a spike was out in the corn stubble nose to the ground sniffing a trail and that was at 3:45 pm . The small scrapes on my hunting property are growing wider. I'd say "its game on".


I hope the reason the rest of you guys aren't posting is because your out hunting, although I don't know why you can't spend a minute to give an update in different areas of the state. WHERES THE LUV????????????[&:][&:][&:][:D][:D]
