Two visits by a 7-point

Postby Everyday Hunter » Tue Nov 03, 2009 10:42 am

This 7-point might be the biggest buck I've seen on camera so far. He visited this rub/licking branch two consecutive nights, within 26 minutes of the same time.

So did you get him lastnight?
Hunting isn't a matter of Life or Death
Its MUCH more important than that!

Easy there. I couldn't hunt last night. My next day in the woods is tomorrow. I'm hoping I can be out all day. It's going to be a cold one.

Here's another buck I'd settle for -- this one has bigger and nicer antlers (though maybe not wider):

I think both are 3½ year olds. The 8-point hasn't been to one of my licking branches yet, but in this picture he's less than 40 yards away from my ground blind.

If I'm looking for the top 10% of the bucks in my area (not a QDM practicing area), both of these bucks meet that standard.

Both are very nice deer!
Put me on a mountain, way back in the backwoods
Put me on a lake with biggin' on the line
Put me around a campfire cookin' something I just cleaned
