November Rut Action

[VA MD Hunter]

31 Oct 09 will mark the end of a nine day muzzleloader season in MD...No success for me but I'm looking forward to getting the bow back in hand on 1 Nov 09 (private land)...The rut should be heating up and I anxiously await some early morning chasing action...Good luck to all!!!

This was my second year muzzeloader hunting. I got my first deer with a muzzleloader on Halloween, a nice doe. I am taking off tomorrow 11/4 - 11/6 hoping to nail a buck.

I took off 3-6 Nov 09...took a doe on 3 Nov...saw nothing on 4 and 5 Nov...Saw a doe and small buck on 6 Nov, another small doe on 7 Nov and a decent doe right at last light on 8 Nov...The rut is dragging along and happening at nght during the coldest temperatures...Hopefully things will pickup this week...Should be peak for does coming into estrus...Good luck!
