Getting him into bow range

Postby glcMI » Thu Nov 06, 2008 2:16 pm

Had a nice sixer 50 yards out after five minutes of sitting today,  In a fifteen minute period, tried an estrous bleat, he heard it but no reaction, then tried two low tube grunts.  He kept on his merry way.  Any suggestions?

sometimes insubordanate bucks will shy away from calls because they dont want a whuppin. its also possible he just didnt hear you. i prefer to use bleats as they are less threatning.

sometimes when i use calls it appears that they dont give a hoot but really they end up circling downwind and im busted. try putting some estrous scent on both sides of your stand incase he does go downwind, might bring him into shooting range atleast.
