The food sources are dependent on the type of land and the amount of agriculture in the area, in addition to many other factors. Generally I am still experiencing acorns on the ground and the areas i hunt have food plots in the area. I typically will set up not on the food sources as opposed to near the bedding areas. The exact location is decided on depending on the wind. The deer may find food in many areas but the bedding areas will typical stay consistent. Creek bottoms and natural fullels are area I focus on. There is always ample browse even when all of the leaves have fallen in most areas of the country. On last little secret is hunt the pines afetr a rain and watch the deer hone in on the mushrooms.
Enjoying the moment and always striving to enhance our hunting heritage
