Deer roast

Postby Robert Rowland » Mon Jul 07, 2008 3:12 pm

My wife has a recipe for cooking the roast. The original is called "Italian Beef" but she uses deer roast and it is really good.
1 cup of water, 1tbsp of salt, 1tbsp of pepper, 1 tbsp of worcestershire sauce, 1 tbsp of garlic powder, 1 tbsp of dry mustard, and 1 medium size roast.
Combine all ingredients in a crock pot and cook for 7 hours, then shred the roast. Add 1 jar of pepperoncini and cook for 3 more hours. Place the shredded roast on split Italian loaves or on Kaiser rolls and eat like a sandwich.
This is the best way I have found to eat deer roast.

Wow!  My mouth is watering just reading that recipe.  Thanks for sharing it.  I'm going to make it this week with my last deer roast.  (It's a good thing that deer season is less than a month away, I'm running out of meat!)
Thanks again!
