do cameras do any good from may through july?

my brother wants to put the cameras out now, to run them through the summer. what's the point? sounds like a waste of batteries to me, to learn where deer travel in may or june or july. our land changes a lot -- right now much of it is under water, we have a lot of cedar swamp. the food sources change a lot. what's the point?

I do it for the enjoyment of it. Gets me in the woods year round, I can keep tabs on how they are doing/growing and monitor my property for tresspassers.

Deer travel a lot and it is great to get early pictures of all the different Bucks in your area and how well the bucks are growing their antlers and if you get some pic's of them in velvet and after they loose the velvet just think how awesome it would be to harvest the very same deer and have pic's of it as it developes!The same goes for Doe's that arrive with their young Fawns in front of your camera.

Can you get pictures of smaller animals, squirels, rabbits, turkeys, or can these cameras only capture larger deer or bigfoot size animals??

Thats a good question.. Smallest I have seen is turkey a couple of times but I have never seen chipmonks or squirels. Im sure it all depends on the sensitivity of the camera.

I have a wildview camera and i have gotten a squirrel on my camera.  The squirrel climbed a small tree near my camera.  I am pretty sure the only reason it took a picture was because he was so close.

i suppose after we run the cameras all summer i might change my mind after i see the pictures. could be worth it for the reasons mentioned

I use Moultrie D40 cams. It will trigger by coons, squirrels, rabbits, even birds

I use them year around, Yes they pick-up squirels, rabbits, raccoons
