What Gun/Guns and Ammo do You Deer Hunt with?

I hunt with a Ruger .270 now.
My first deer gun was a Marlin 30-30 that I bought new for $99.00  I liked that gun but wanted another and traded.
After trading a handful of guns, I have learned my lesson.
NEVER trade guns. I wish I still had all of them.
If you want a new gun and cant afford to buy it, just wait till you can. If you trade guns, you might regret it later.

I hunt in NY state the areas i hunt are either woodland or swampy.I use a marlin lever action 30/30 with hornady leverlution ammo.i like the way the small gun shoulders and swings .the ammo allows for acurate shots .most shots are way under 100yrds the average being 50 and lower.igot an older busnell low power scope on it i think its a banner 2 model.It gets the job done

 
Agreed, Joel.  Hard to beat the 30-30 for woodland fifty yard shots.

My wife's from upstate NY.  Near Auburn.  Her dad hunted deer, pheasant, and ducks as a younger man before moving out of the snow belt.

I have a Remington 7600 in 30.06.  Lately, I've been carrying a .243 in the same make and model, but have yet to drop the hammer.  I can tell you, the .243 is a lot easier on the shoulder at the range.

My uncle "collects" the 03-A3.  He's done well with them while deer hunting in daylight conditions in the field.  He's even done well with an M-1 in field hunting. 
 
Do you have your 03 scoped?

Oh to be only 48!!!!! My 2.5 year Grand son has a 300 Savage Model 99 I inherited from my father, he also has a 30-06 Remington 700 and  a 870 in 20 gauge Remmington Wingmaster. Youngest grandson was born in February, this years model, he already has a Savage rifle in 270 Winchester and a 870  in 12 gauge, full camo. Dad, my son, has instructions to never let the guns be traded, must be handed down! Start a tradition to keep youngsters invloved in the shooting sports!!!! AND it is GREAT fun too!  Uncle Lon to some, Grand Pa to 4!!

I bought my Daughter a Rossi Youth Gun in the .243 single shot and I put a Tru-Glo Red Dot Scope on it and she got her first Doe 2 years ago!We also got the 22 LR barrel and the 20 gauge shot gun barrel for it.
 
I also have a Browning .270 Medallion Bolt Action in the WSM caliber and it is a very good and long shooting gun but I haven't got a Deer with it yet!I did get another 8-Point Buck with my Browning .243 Bolt Action this past Nov and it is at the Taxidermist and should be ready in August!

I hunt with a remmington 700 with federal 180 gr nosler partion or t/c omega 50 with thriple 7 pellets and 240 gr xtp bullets.

Wow ..am I glad I read these posts...Here in N.Y. it's just recently that we can use rifles in our areas .....Mr B. and I drove to P.A. and found me a  nice remmington lft handed 243 with a monty stock...and I put a nikon pro scope on it...then another hunting sight said 243's are way too small for deer...I shoot a 100 gr bullet and it's dead on at 100yrds
 for 28yrs I've been hunting with a 20ga browning with breneke 3in slugs and for muzzle a pursuit lt. break open using 100gr. pellets and 240gr.bullet
