How high in a tree do you go?

Hey i was just wondering how high everyone goes in a tree? I like to go about 30' up. deer dont seem to see me and they dont smell me either.

I try to get over the 20-25 foot mark also, as long as the particular tree doesn't prevent it.

I rarely see the need to go over 20 feet high.

I gave up building my stands and have gone to the store-bought ladder stands, they are 17'. I also have a couple of pop-up blinds that I really like. The trees where I hunt don't work well for climbers, and I don't like hanging stands. I did have one instance last year when I was winded while in a blind, but I was not going to shoot him anyway.

I have been using climbing stands since around 1992, and have never gone more than 15 feet up, usually staying closer to 12 or so without any deer spotting or smelling me.

I will usually climb 30 feet if the canopy will allow me to.
