Shotgun question

I plan on using my turkey shotgun for foul weather deer hunting, as it's all I have when the weather turns nasty, and I don't want to take my semi-auto browning.
I know I need to screw in a IC choke tube to allow this gun to shoot rifled slugs.
My question is this. My gun has a 20" barrel. What can expect for max yardage from this set-up. I expect around 50 yrds, but you guys may have other opinions.

It depends on a lot of things.  You know that the only way to truly find out is to shoot it at various distances with various slugs and determine for yourself which is the best combination.  For what it's worth, a couple of guys that I used to hunt with had pretty accurate smooth bore deer barrels and were pretty deadly out to 75 or 80 yards.  This was, however, with the rifle sights, not with a rib and bead.

Thanks for the advice! I did forget to mention the shotgun has a bushnell red dot on top.

I'd also get a cylinder choke for it. Slugs like NO choke at all most of the time.
 
And ditto on Dan's advice for the sights. For me, that would be a "gotta have".

What about putting a rifled barrel on it, we have a gun store in my town that keeps a few used barrels for the more popular models. What r u shooting ???
