What type of bow does everyone use

In one of my other posts a member asked me what type of bow I shoot and I thought it make a good topic. I am a confirmed primative archer as I make all my own gear. Here is what I use.

I use a self bow made of Osage Orange and bamboo backed it was my second attempt at making a bow. The first bow was made of hickory and I took off to much tiller and ruined it. My bow is 61 inches long and is rated at 39-40 pounds with a 28 inch draw length, I draw closer to 29 inches so I think it is really closer to 45 or 46 pounds. The arrows I use are made of ceder or bamboo and they are 29 1/2 inches long and spined at 50 pounds. I like a heavier arrow to make up for my lower drawing weight. I use Bear Super razor heads (the green ones)the same broadhead my grand dad hunted with. I also use stone heads made of obsidian or flint that I make myself.

I mostly hunt with a Bear Super Kodiak recurve, #55. I use Easton Legacy shafts, and Razorcap broadheads.

I really admire you guys who make your own archery equipment I have neither the time, or the patience, although one day I do want to start making my own arrows.

I think the Bear Super kodiak is an awesome bow. maybe one day. Making your own bow is really not that difficult or time consumimg. There are several places on the web you can get info. Let me tell you nothing will give you more pleasure or pride when harvesting a big game animal with a bow and arrow you have made yourself.

No doubt Mathew is the best bow on the market. But before you get down with your set up you will spend 1K on your bow.
But the slience and smoothness of this bow is unreal. Their cams are sold to other bow manufacturers.

I shoot vintage Pearson recurves, a six month old voodookustom r/d longbow and am anxiously awaiting my first osage selfbow a friend made me from some osage he cut on my family farm. Spent 25 yrs shooting about every brand of compounds too.
