Supposedly, IL over the counter archery tags went on sale 8/3.

good to hear. For some reason I always wait until I am almost out the door to pick these up, not this year hopefully.

Hello,
I know this is an old post but I was wondering If I can get some information on how the tag and permit system works for hunting public lands? I cant seem to find information on this maybe because we are smack dab in the middle of the season. Do you apply for a county or a specific public hunting grounds? I apologize for these silly questions but want to get informed so that I can be prepared when the time comes for me to graduate to bow hunting. I started deer hunting last year firearm season and haven't had to hunt public land. I am going out this year firearm again and can't wait. Good luck and happy hunting.
