Hey, Im thinking of buying a video camera for this hunting season. I want to take good video's. I want to catch the arrow in flight, and have good pic as well. Im willing to spend about 500 on this but no more. I want somthing good that will last. What does everyone here use and how much?

Hello Deercamp I found this site about a year ago, they have a great forum and plenty of reviews on video cameras and videography. You will find that the members in that forum are professional videographers and are really personable. Enjoy.

Here is a pic of a tom in a field. I tried to post some video, but could'nt for some reason. I used a digital cam,it records 30 second video clips too.
I have a JVC GR-D370U small digital camera . It takes viveos on a tape and still pics on a SD card .I throw it in the backpack and take it hunting . My videos would come out better if I used a tri-pod . It is irritating to watch a video with the camera bouncing . Also some things are out of focus when using the Auto-Focus .
{EDIT, I missed the word VIDEO in your question. My bad. Below are stills, but I think depending on the camera used you can use the same set-up with the camera set to video mode}
I have seen some homemade trail cams that are phenomenal! And they can be done for under $300. Quality pics and set-up, don't let the homemade words fool you.
You can find used Sony P32 and P41 on ebay and around, and then go to http://www.snapshotsniper.com/HomeBrewProducts.htm and buy the housing. motherboard, etc. Its pretty neat, and the cameras take incredible pics.

I have been filming my hunts for fun and practice for 3 years now and I have been using a Panasonic PV-GS300. it is a 3ccd camcorder that cost me $500. I dunno if this model is still out there but the series is really good and with a SD card in it you can take nice pictures.
Sorry I am trying to get this picture thing to work. The picture from the post above is a staged one and the picture below is a still from video I took.
