Places to hunt in VT

Postby woodsalta » Fri Sep 24, 2010 8:36 am

Hi there everyone, I will be attending a wedding in VT in October 2011. I was thinking of making it a hunting trip too (maybe stay a few extra days after the wedding). Does anyone know of any public hunting places, or maybe someone would let a fellow hunter hunt an area near them? Any ideas would be great! Thanks.

I forgot to mention that I would be in the Woodstock area. Thanks.

WOW!! Planning for 2011 already? I've driven through there a lot. Some real good deer hunting in the Woodstock area (for VT anyway). Most of it is private. Bring your climber, knock on some doors, maybe you'll get lucky. 30-40 minutes east of Woodstock on RT 4 in Mendon there is the Wheelerville Rd. Some public land there, but it's big woods and tough odds to do much in a couple days. But who knows.
Not knowing where you are going is the best way to get

ZEEK - thanks for the info. I wanted to plan ahead, hotel, bed and breakfast, what season it is, etc., and since I havn't hunted VT before, I tought I would try to gather as much info as possible.
