2010 Pa Deer Season

hey everyone just less then two weeks to go before the opener. I just wanted to open a post where we can keep each other posted on deer activity during the year, mainly when you all see the rut starting to happen and all that. Also if anyone has any good stories throughout the season i'd love to hear'em

Saw a group of five does in the yard recently. Most I've seen together around here and 4 or 5 years.

I'm from Beaver County. Central part of the county near the town of Beaver.

At the beginning of September, we cut some tram roads which had overgrown, creating clear paths through parts of the farm where we hunt. When I was walking through yesterday, in some places with overhanging branches, there were scrapes.

this weekend checked the trail camera for the first time in a month and some new bucks were around plus there were some rubs in the area. Not much deer movement Saturday when i was in the stand just a doe and a fawn, still a lot of standing corn in the area though

Finally got a chance to scratch that itch this past weekend, though it was pretty slow.

Hunted a stand that usuaully produces numerous deer sightings but only say a yearling doe and mature doe. We had extremelly thick fog that limited visibility to only about 30 yards. Believe this limited there movement in the morning.

Hunted the stand very close to where I took the picture of the buck in post #2 and didn't see any deer. Afternoon temps got close to 70 where I was at and kept the deer bedded. Hopefully this weekend will be better.
