6....a frost is due in the next few hours....hope they don't start hitting turnips until Sat.....18 doe and fawn in the field tonight....rain called for ...so the winter rye should be coming up soon...You can tell I'm the only one with green corn standing...the stalks just started developing 2 ears each...the deer are snapping them in half ...eating the unripe cobs....some of the turnip greens are way past prime but the turnips are the size of salad plates...they'll hit those late in Dec...All the rest are 2ft tall and bright green....Clovers are getting hit hard...as the maple saplings and annual grasses are drying up....Good luck every one

I hunt the Northern zone in 6A. I was fortunate enough to get a doe opening morning[:)] Best of luck this year everyone!!

Congrats reeper...thats a fine looking doe...Just told Mr B. I wish we had land up north...I had a unused buck tag I could have tried to fill....He should have kept in contact with the guys from Watertown when they worked in the Fort[;)]

I am about an hour and a half from Watertown. Thats cool he worked in Ft.Drum, I have heard some pretty interesting things from people who have been there. Hopefully if you ever buy land in the northern zone you won't have the trespasser and dog issues[;)]
