Got a doe two weeks ago... AND just killed another one this morning! The first one weighed in at 90 pounds after field dressed. The one today weighed in at exactly 100 pounds after being field dressed.
The picture is poor, I know, and it doesn't do it justice for its' size. Seriously, up close and personal, this deer was a hoss! When I shot her she was the biggest of the three standing there.
Great story about this deer too. I am pretty sure she is the one I 'missed' last week when I guessed the range wrong and undershot her. This time I used the same stand but brought my range finder. A big sycamore tree was dropping leaves and one leaf landed and stuck in the grass sideways instead of laying down, giving me a great target to aim the range finder at. I ranged it at 31 yards. The deer came out of the woods and literally walked over the leaf and stood there broadside with the leaf pointing up at her belly! I could not believe my eyes, or my luck! WAM! Nailed her with a double lung hit! God is good!
