Wow, this sure is late in the year for that. Believe it or not, 2 yrs ago i was scouting turkey the night before the first day of spring gobbler and saw a little buck still carrying one antler. Most bucks are starting their new sets already. I wonder if that deer will get as much growing time as all the other bucks or i wonder if he'll hold his velvet really late?

i think he would hold velvet late..i believe he must of been a fawn born late in the year.. the past couple of years i have noticed fawns that still support spots during archery season..

but the thing i didnt mention is he was dead on the side of the road, so we will never know what he'll support next year..

Latest I've seen was a small buck still had antlers on April 3rd.
