Hey Everyone...are you starting to see any good buck sign? Rubs? Scrapes? Seeing any chasing?

not a darn thing from rutland county...........i usually do not see any rubs until december....think the buck to doe ratio is so poor that the bucks really do not have much competition. Know for sure there is a respectable 2 1/2 year old 8 point all around my house that I have been seeing, and he has not hooked one tree or make a scrape yet!!! THe buck activity in the midwest and western NY is really hot right now!!! , This is a great forum though for our area, hopefully others will join in though, as what I am seeing now is fairly consistent every year...........thanks

The deer activity around here is in full force. There are scrapes and rubs everywhere and I have pics on a trail cam with bucks fighting, that was one day last week.

I'm not seeing much either...I did shoot a buck in Canada this weekend that is only about 1 mile from the VT border that was in full rut chasing a doe...his neck was really swollen. 5pt 210#...he was a brute! But, as I mentioned in one of my earlier posts, the hunting up there is entirely different which is hard to believe since it's so close to the border. For example, in the last two weeks, I have pictures of 9 DIFFERENT bucks on my trail cam, and the one I shot wasn't one of them!

Thanks Backstrap...here is the picture...I don't know how to resize it so that it shows properly. I got kind of "screwed" on the antlers given the size of the deer but as they say, you can't eat the antlers! The picture doesn't do it justice, either. The antlers had a 17" spread but the deer itself was just a pig! When he came charging into that clearing and then stopped, steam coming from his nose, he was certainly impressive!
