Are you referring to the dark spots/marks on the face, neck and shoulders? Could be the coat is turning from summer to fall. Typically red coat during the spring/summer that turns to their typical grey/brown for the fall. Should continue to see the blotches to get bigger as the coat changes.

Looks like it has had its head in mud.  I've seen deer sloshing in a creek during the summer... maybe to keep cool.  Might it be trying to keep bugs from its face?

Got several pics of deer last summer with very similiar coloration. Many were mature bucks, I see most of them this past fall and all looked normal and healthy.

could be a tick in her ear, but it looks like she's shedding

it looks like it got its head stuck inside a fench or something ,ya can see marks on the shoulder too.it probably was running and ran into a fence then struggled a bit to get out of it scratching its ear in the process.lets CSI it[:D]

That's what I thought! it looks more like it just ran smack into a chain link fence or something... I dunno
