Scent wicks

I'm going to an area where I've only hunted once, one month ago, and planning on returning next week, at Thanksgiving. If I use scent wicks, is it acceptable to put them up, say in the afternoon, and leave them up overnight, freshening them again in the morning, whether I hunt the first evening or not. Will the "attracted deer" return the next day, if they didn't find a real deer the first time?

From what I've experienced in Alabama & Georgia, yes the deer (buck) will remain close to the area in hopes of catching the "deer" responsible for leaving the scent.  Unless he is enticed away by another hot doe he should re-check it often.
