Bracken Co. 8 pointer!

Aint enough folks postin from Bracken or Ky for that matter! So here is my deer from 14 Nov 2010! Put him down with my new Rossi 243 from 75yrds! Hate that I tagged out early and that dad is upset that he aint got one yet but he will..he always does! LOL Good luck to all you all from Northern Ky and else where!!!! What do yall think he'll score????

Congrats hillbillyky! Great Deer! I don't know what he would score in the books, but he looks like he scored enough for you to pull the trigger!! If you look in the Ky section under Where are your 2010 pictures 4 of the 6 pictures are bucks from Bracken Co. Yours makes 5 of 7 from Bracken. I don't know what's up with the rest of Ky. There are usually a lot more pictures from around the Bluegrass, but we are a little short on pics so far this year. I hope to see a lot more soon. I love to here and see how everyone else has done. Yeah, it's funny about Bracken County-- a monstrous load of deer were taken in the area bordered by Routes 539, 22, and 10 on Opening Weekend.  Was yours taken in that corridor?  Mine was.  I was talking with James, the CO.  He was quite amazed at the amount of shooting that was going on. Shooting opportunities in the rest of the county were not nearly as good.

I feel for your Dad.  Things died down quickly after the Opener.  I haven't seen a shooter buck since Monday, when I got mine.

Yeah Shaman, I spoke to Mr.Beckett the other night at the Bracken Co. Sportsman Club dinner and we talked about the same thing. Scary actually when you think about it cause most hunters around this area are not going to get 150yrd + shots many are going to be under that and like mine are going to be in the +- 50yrds. So why all the shooting?? I think too many folks sight in for them long shots and when a deer comes in way under that they miss with over shots! Our farm is between Rt. 8 and the AA. Heard about 30 or more shots since gun season opened half I think were last minute sighting in? I still plan on putting a doe in the freezer but I'm gonna wait til dad get his buck!! Were are also hunting Pat Taylors farm in Robertson Co. Not seeing much over there either? Anyway good luck the rest of the season maybe we'll see each other out and about. Take care and have a safe Thanksgiving holiday! Keep me posted on sightings and I'll do the same.
