mineral blocks

I've never used a mineral block or deer lick of any kind.  Has anyone had any luck with any and what type I should look into?

I did try two this season.  I used the wildgames innovation acorn rage drop n' block and had plenty of activity.  The deer would paw up the ground digging through the leaves to get the acorns that it dropped.  I also tried the apple buck jam and though i didn't see any activity I think that has more to do with the area i was hunting.  It had too much hunting pressure so much in fact while using an estrus bleat can i called another hunter into my stand area lol.
