It will be September 25 and 26.  The Michigan game laws book just came out today, and I saw it in there.

i got this last week from dnr on facebook,, Michigan Department of Natural Resources commented on your wall post:

"Hi Dan -- The 2010 Hunting and Trapping Guide is being printed right now, and the online version is being finalized as well. Printed copies will hopefully be sent out to retailers by the end of August, and the online version should be posted sometime next week. We will post a link to it as soon as it is up. Thanks!"

here comes the old saying " I wish I still were a kid." I have a few more years before I can take the youngins out for this hunt, but I cant wait. Good luck to all of you youngsters who are going out for this special hunt, just for you!
"If I pull the hammer and shoot this young buck, he's dead. But if I pass on him, the next hunter might not shoot so straight."

2011 Youth Hunt

Postby largemouth19 » Wed Jul 27, 2011 7:55 am

OK so it seems this comes up once a year but does anyone know when the 2011 youth hunt is? I have been all over the MDNR website and can't find the dates. I even went to Jay's Sporting Goods and asked some of my old co-workers there and they had no idea.

I also have a question about who can take a youth hunting and how close do I have to be do said youth. I want to take my 13 year old cousin, am I allowed to do that? Also I was going to put him in a ladder stand and set up a ground blind at the bottom, can I do that? Thanks for the help

Dont know the date. but if you are 21 years old you can take a youth of any age hunting.

There is an artical about this on the deer and deerhunting home page by Ben. Check it out.

2011 Youth Hunt Dates

Postby largemouth19 » Thu Jul 28, 2011 5:06 pm

Just in case any one else asks the youth hunting dates for 2011 are;
Youth Early Antlerless Firearm Hunting Days: September 20 – 23, 2011
Youth and 100 percent disabled veteran firearm deer hunt days: September 24-25, 2011

copied and pasted straight from the MDNR website.
