For those using summit climbers, what have you used to re-coat your cables with once the original rubber has worn off?

From summit you can purchase new shrink wrap tubing for your cables, I did this before the season and it didn't hold up as well as I expected. It didn't seem to shrink enough around the cable and cracked pretty bad. Next season I think I'll just buy another cable, I prep a lot of trees in the off season so I figure I'll use the old cables for trimming and the new only when hunting. Maybe if you had more heat theyd shrink better.

I replace My Summit cables on all 3 of my climbers every other year. If the rubber is gone and moisture hits the steel cable it can only go down hill from there in my opinion. Better safe than sorry.
