How to Post Photos

Posting photos works differently than the previous forum. Here's how to do it.

1) Once you're in a new post window, click Upload Attachment (it's located below the area that you type in).

2) Next, click the Browse button to select your file.

3) Once you've selected the file, click Add the File.

4) To place the photo in the post, click Place Inline.

Then just publish the post as you normally would with the Submit button.

Or you can go to
USER CONTROL PANEL and select
BOARD PREFERENCES then select
EDIT DISPLAY OPTIONS where you check the box to "DISPLAY IMAGES WITHIN POSTS"
once that's set, there's no need to "put the photo in line" (your step 4)
The cool thing here is, when you hit "PREVIEW" you actually see the picture in the post during the preview. The old site did not show the picture until after you had submitted it.

I tried posting following the instructions. I get a display that says "Image is to large, cannot display." Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks!!

Dan,
Lots of people asking about their pictures being too big. Any response from readers is apt to be instructions for use of a particular photo editing/resizing program. No sense giving out how to do it in MGI photo suite to someone who hasn't got that program. Can the geeks at D&DH come up with a resize program to use right on the site? I know that regular pictures have a 256K size limit and the avatar has a pixel X pixel limitation. Why not have the site guys provide a tool that edits everyones pics to the propersize?

That is a great idea Wanderer. My frustration level is sky high on this issue. I have always had pictures that I would like to share, but I can't seem to do it. I have a Apple Mac which seems to compound the problem as some of the programs mentioned do not work with a Mac. Help.
(I might mention that my computer skills are not one of my strong points)
