Was wondering what kind of disease this tree has.

is that a hat or something hanging on the tree?

Yes that is a hat. Whenever I find a good looking rub, I try to put something in the pic for a size reference.

No Deebz, I won't be loosening any arrows at this guy. I ran accross this rub when I was in Iowa shed hunting. For all I know he could be hanging on someone's wall.
