Antler Growth 2011

Antler Growth 2011

I was working on the computer this morning when I glanced up and noticed three deer across the road. They were feeding on blueberry blossoms. A closer look (through the zoom lens of my Nikon P100) showed all three to be bucks. I've not seen any antlered deer this spring, but I was pleased with the browtines developing on the larger,reddish buck. What's antler development look like where the rest of you guys (and girls) live? Antbody seeing anything they may want to stick an arrow in later this year?

Here is a buck we got way back in late April. We haven't seen him since and right now only have 2 of our 6 cameras out. I did get a buck on camera that had brow tines and was starting to show signs of g2's a week ago. In another week or 2, all of our cameras will be out looking for the big boys.

I check my cameras on sunday. Got about the same antler growth so far this year. Plan to check them in July and get real excited.

I had three bucks out in the cornfield yesterday morning. One had a pretty good start on a headful. I tried to take his picture but I guess the patio door squeal startled him. It's noty the best pic, but he's well outside his ears already.

Yeah, i know...no mineral blocks in MI,....but i just can't resist the salt block...you see the feeder is empty...3 years now?

I checked my cameras this weekend and got a great buck coming into my mineral site. Pretty big for June 25.
