2011 Veteran's Day Buck

I was fortunate enough to shoot the biggest buck that I have ever seen while hunting last November 11th. Live weight was estimated at the check station at 235 lbs. I took it to the taxidermist on Nov. 12 and it's still there. I did call him the other day and he assured me that it will be ready mid July. I've relived that evening many times over the last 6 months and can't wait to hang it on my wall. The taxidermist is also a Boone and Crocket scorer and he scores all the bucks that he mounts. Any guesses as to the score? The G-2's are 12 inches.

I would guess he would go near 140 inches. Regardless that's a great buck!! Congrats.

Inside spread was 22 inches. Thanks to both of you. The leaves on the hat pin on...thought it was a nice touch too.

That's a nice one guy. Did he come off your property? Did you know he was around, or was he a surprize? Looks to be very symetrical. Is that right brow tine just a little short or something broken off of it? I'm guessing somewhere in the 140's. What's your best scoring buck so far?

I had not seen this particular buck on our property prior to that evening despite having two trail cameras operating in the woods. My woods connects to a large tract that twists and turns for miles so I would imagine that he was doing some traveling during the rut. Yes, one of the G-1's were broken off, but both are small. As for my largest buck, he is it, both in rack and body size. My buddy and I really struggled to get him out to the field in the dark, but I enjoyed every minute of it.

Finally got my deer mount back. Ended up scoring 139 3/8 and 3 1/2 yrs old. I'll be staring at it for quite a while.
