There is so much to savor out of every hunt that it's a wonder that your brain can collect it all. My bow hunting started back in the early 70's and I can still recall the details of that first deer out of Oregon, Ill. and so many deer that followed. But when I think back over those moments, what really seems to stand out is the initial sighting of the deer of the moment. Easily recalling even the shooter bucks that were so close but left no chance at, still remain readilly imprinted. One hopes that with age (that just keeps adding up non-stop) will not take away those savored memorable moments.
