Giant non-typicals often have such crazy racks that you go “Hmmm” at first glance, but the monster buck killed by A.J. Downs in Texas is pretty doggone handsome.

Downs arrowed the heavy-racked on the opening day of bow season in Texas, Sept. 29. According to this great report at BasecampTexas.com, he double-lunged the whopper from a ground blind on a rainy morning and found it about 75 yards away. The buck has more than 20 points from massive bases and is just thick from the bases to where tines sprout.
What a fantastic deer. Downs is waiting for an official score but is certain it will be well over 200, and we agree. Quite impressive headgear for this Texas buck!
