Eddie Lee Stripling has been promoted to Lieutenant and District One Assistant Supervisor with the Alabama Division of Wildlife and Freshwater Fisheries.

As Assistant District Supervisor, Stripling will be responsible for the day-to-day law enforcement operations for the counties in the southern portion of district one in northwest Alabama.

“Lieutenant Stripling is an enthusiastic leader dedicated to wildlife conservation law enforcement,” said Kevin Dodd, WFF Law Enforcement Chief. “North Alabama will be well served by Eddie’s experience and leadership.”

Stripling joined the Alabama Department of Conservation and Natural Resources in 1986 as a WFF Conservation Enforcement Officer in Wilcox County. Stripling transferred to Lamar County in 1990, and was promoted to sergeant in WFF District One in 2004.

In 1988, Stripling received the Southeastern Association of Fish and Wildlife Agencies Alabama Officer of the Year Award. Stripling was again honored in 2003 with the National Wild Turkey Federation’s Alabama Officer of the Year award. In 2008, Stripling received the Alabama Wildlife Federation’s Officer of the Year award.

Stripling lives in the Crossville community in Lamar County with his wife, Becky. When not on the job, Stripling enjoys hunting, fishing, traveling, and managing his property for wildlife.
