Illegal aliens are about to get their butts kicked by the Marine Corps and it ain’t gonna be pretty.

Bowfishermen and anglers from Marine Corps Base Quantico are going to put a full assault on the invasive snakehead fish this weekend. They’ll be going after the exotic Asian species that has infested the waters around the military base, Potomac River and some of its tributaries.

The snakehead tournament is one of several being put on now that the nasty, territorial and invasive fish have gained a firm foothold. State officials don’t know the exact number of snakeheads but they’re a doggone problem. The fish has been on the state’s “Most Wanted” list (not really a list, but they need one!) for about a decade. Snakeheads are prolific breeders, protect their young fiercely and have a ravenous appetite.

The Marine Corps will put a hurting on them this weekend, however.

“The main goal here is to encourage some good outdoor recreation for the Marines, their families and the general public,” Euel Tritt, a conservation officer at Quantico and one of the event’s organizers, told FoxNews.com. “And they’re an invasive species in the waterways, so it’s a win-win situation.”

Last summer a snakehead tournament was held on the Potomac and they’re gearing up for their second one in a few weeks. If you’re a deer hunter with a jones for bowfishing in summer and thoughts about putting a trophy snakehead on your wall, this snakehead tournament June 29-30 is the one to be in.
