OK, this might not truly be the biggest sheds ever found, but we submit this find by Minnesota’s Kaden Iverson as having to rank right up there with some of the most impressive white-tailed deer antlers found as sheds.
Deer & Deer Hunting fan Tara Iverson sent in this report just the other day:
“My son is 12, and this past weekend we were out shed hunting and he found the match to a 16-point buck. So, after we finally got it scored, it turned out to be much bigger than we had thought.”
According to the official measurer, this biggest sheds the Iversons have ever found are as follows:
Antler 1: 82-3/8 inches.
Antler 2: 92-7/8 inches.
With an estimated inside spread of 20 inches, this buck’s rack would score a whopping 195-2/8 inches as a nontypical whitetail. There is even more to the story.
“This was Kaden’s first time out shed hunting,” Tara reports. “He was with his grandpa and uncle. They were out on a new piece of property and had only been out looking for about an hour when Kaden yelled ‘I found one!’
“His uncle and grandpa teased him and said ‘no way!’ Kaden replied, ‘I’m serious!’ then continued to yell ‘Oh my gosh! Oh my gosh! I found the other one! I can’t breathe! I’m shaking so bad, hurry!’ ”
What an awesome story. Big-time congratulations go out to Kaden and his family for this memorable “hunt.”
