Hunter Killed When Blood Trailing His Deer

A Marion County, Arkansas, man died recently when he was attacked by a deer he had shot while hunting earlier that day. According to one of the wardens investigating the scene, the incident was one of the most bizarre cases he has observed  in more than 20 years of law enforcement.

According to Fox 16, 66-year-old Thomas Alexander was muzzleloader hunting near Yellville, Arkansas, when he shot a white-tailed deer. He reportedly waited for a while before taking up the bloodtrail. When he did, he came upon deer and it was still alive.

At that point, the deer apparently attacked Alexander, who suffered numerous puncture wounds to his body. The Arkansas Game and Fish Commission reported that Alexander was hunting by himself that day. He did, however, contact his family after he was attacked. The family then called emergency responders. Alexander passed away at the hospital, according to the Fox 16 report.
