We talk about practicing at the range with our rifle or muzzleloader, or working on bow shots from different angles in the yard, in order to become more proficient when the season rolls around.
Why do we take for granted working on our deer grunt calls? Because, usually, we think they will just magically work when we toot a buck, doe or fawn sound. That’s not the case, though.
To make better sounds, and to reproduce the full range of whitetail deer vocalizations, some calls work far better than others. One is the Extinguisher Deer Call. It’s the only deer call that sounds like a buck, a doe and a fawn in an instant, thanks to its patented Modislide System.
But to make those sounds realistic, Deer & Deer Hunting editor Gordy Krahn says you have to practice.
“If you’re looking for something to do during those long commutes to work in the morning, why not brush up on your deer calls?” Krahn said. “It’s a great way to make good use of all that downtime behind the wheel. With the adjustable Illusion Systems Extinguisher Deer Call you can effectively make the realistic sounds of bucks, does and fawns. And the more time you spend on the call now the more proficient you’ll be come fall. Practicing in the privacy of your car – and not at home on the couch – will probably go a long way toward maintaining married bliss, too. I’m talking from experience, here.”
The Modislide, found exclusively on the Extinguisher, is a breakthrough in deer call technology. It glides up and down the reed assembly, giving it the wide range of tone and volume that other calls cannot match.
