Crossbows Now Legal in Kentucky

BREAKING: We have received word that the Kentucky legislators have voted and crossbows are now legal archery equipment for deer hunting with an extended season.

Deer & Deer Hunting first reported on this proposal two weeks ago, and Kentucky deer hunters were overwhelmingly favorable in their support for allowing the expansion of the state’s whitetail season.

Bryan Zabitski, an ardent supporter of crossbow hunting, had this to say about the decision: “Congratulations to the Kentucky Crossbow Federation on the successful approval of crossbow use expansion for archery deer season in the state of Kentucky! This grassroots organization made up of crossbow hunters has made history in just one short year! It is through the hard work of President Perry McClure, Vice President Eric DeLodder, Secretary/Treasurer Mary Kathryn DeLodder, Board Member Tiffany McClure, and countless other hunters who made their voices heard that families in Kentucky now have increased opportunity to share in the experience of archery hunting. Well done, folks!”
