More Regulations for Deer Hunters on the Way?

More changes are being proposed for some deer hunters, including increased regulations and possible antler restrictions on public and private land.

This isn’t anything new for hunters in this state, according to the Florida Wildlife Commission making the proposals. It did the same thing for the Zone D hunters earlier this year and divided that northwest zone into different deer management units based on what it said was heavy input from hunters.

So, the FWC is trying it with Zone A down in the southernmost part of the state.

Florida's Zone A is the southernmost of four state zones and has a late summer-early autumn deer season.

For the 2015-16 hunting season in Zone A, the FWC is proposing greater antler regulations for legal-to-take bucks on private and public lands, and changes to the antlerless deer season on private lands and some public lands based on public input.
