Wild deer are wild for a reason, and although they might be cool to view at close range, it’s not a wise thing to condition them to human dwellings — especially when the deer in question is a hard-antlered buck.
A Colorado woman learned these lessons the hard way when she was cited and fined $550. According to published reports, the woman lured a mule deer buck into her home by placing bananas, apples, carrots and bread on a table just inside an open, sliding-glass patio door.

Officials from Colorado Parks and Wildlife’s Northeast Region were not happy with the woman’s actions. In fact, they took to Twitter to express their displeasure. A caption for a video of the big buck in the woman’s home read, “These egregious acts of feeding wildlife need to stop. It is selfish and dangerous, for both the animals and people, plus it is illegal.”

Let wildlife be wild, these animals are not pets. pic.twitter.com/IK7FlDll5s
