Hunter Tags His Biggest Buck Ever at 84 Years Old

Ed Nowicki is an avid bowhunter and is 84 years young. He still climbs a tree. He and his son, Tom, have been hunting partners for the last 51 years — since Tom was 8 years old. They have enjoyed many seasons together and experienced highs and lows, like all hunters throughout the years. Ed has taken some beautiful deer over this time. Last season on Oct. 16, 2024, he shot his best deer ever.

Ed used a Ravin Crossbow as he had to set the compound bow aside due to the inability to draw and hold the bow as he did when he was younger. “We live in New Jersey, it’s a tiny compact state, overcrowded to say the least and not everyone is rushing to come hunting here. It’s very difficult for a deer to reach its full potential due to motor vehicle traffic and lack of habitat. I hope you enjoy looking at the picture of my dad and his beautiful NJ Trophy Buck. They just don’t get to be this big, in this neck of the woods. But, every once in a while (like every 65 years) sometimes you just get a break of a lifetime,” said Tom.
