A southern Wisconsin taxidermist today confirmed that the buck you saw here on Deer & Deer Hunting last week is a “100 percent legit wild whitetail.”

“We even had a DNR biologist come out and examine the buck,” the taxidermist said. “He aged him at 5-1/2 years old.”

Out of respect for his privacy, D&DH is not naming the taxidermist at this time.

News of this buck, an incredible 27 point nontypical, spread like wildfire when several photos were posted on the Whale-Tales Archery website.

The lucky hunter, who has yet to grant public interviews, shot the buck with his bow and arrow. Wisconsin’s bow season opened on Sept. 14.

Deer and & Deer Hunting has reached out to the hunter in an attempt to publicize this incredible deer, which could easily become the new Wisconsin state record bowkill (nontypical category).

We will bring you updates as they become available.
