Charges: Ohio Meat Processor Skimmed Venison, Sold It

Eight people face a combined 91 criminal charges after they allegedly poached deer and also skimmed venison from hunters who paid them for commercial processing.

The charges were filed in Gallia County, Ohio, against A&E Deer Processing and six men and two women. According to a report by WBNS-TV 10, the individuals face multiple felony counts after they were indicted by a grand jury.

According to the report, A&E Deer Processing skimmed more than 700 pounds of venison from paying customers, packaged the meat and sold it to other individuals. A lengthy investigation also resulted in poaching charges against several of the individuals. Authorities say individuals connected to A&E poached more than 30 wild deer.

Charges against the individuals include theft, jacklighting, receiving stolen property, money laundering, telecommunications fraud and illegal sale of wild game meat.
