Can you say heavyweight? Honest 200-pound whitetails don’t exactly grow on trees around North America, and a true 250-pound-plus deer is in a pretty limited class. And to see one in the wild is something quite impressive.
So, when people say Iowa is the land of the giants, they aren’t kidding. Jean Testin, of Wild Rose, Wisconsin, can attest to this fact. Her hunting trip to Iowa this season paid off with this giant whitetail!
The huge 14-point buck reportedly had a live weight of 277 pounds, and a field-dressed weight of 232 pounds. That’s a lot of venison. Congratulations Jean!
