As part of continuously evaluating flooded areas, the S.C. Department of Natural Resources has extended the temporary closure for hunting within four (4) of the original five (5) coastal plain drainage systems on all game species except for alligator, doves, hogs and coyotes.
The temporary closure on the Wateree – Congaree Drainage will expire on Midnight, Sunday, October 11, 2015 as planned.
Portions of the Edisto Drainage closure will be extended. Areas in Bamberg and Orangeburg Counties that were originally closed will reopen at Midnight Sunday, October 11, 2015 as planned. Portions of the Edisto Drainage in Dorchester, Colleton, and Charleston Counties will remain closed until Midnight, Wednesday, October 14, 2015.
Hunting closures along the Black River, Santee River, and Waccamaw River are being extended until Midnight, Wednesday, October 14, 2015. DNR will continue to monitor flooded areas to adjust the closure zones and time frames as conditions change.

In CALHOUN COUNTY- West side boundary: beginning on I-26 at the Lexington County line, thence southeast on I-26 to the intersection of I-26 and US 176. Thence southeast on US 176 to the intersection with state road 24 (Old Belleville Rd.). Thence east on state road 24 to the intersection with state road 25 (Purple Martin Dr.), thence east on state road 25 to Fort Motte, becoming SC 419 (Ft. Motte Rd). Thence southeast on SC 419 to the intersection with SC 267 (McCords Ferry Rd.). Thence southeast on SC 267 to the CSX train line in Lone Star. Thence north on the CSX train line to the Sumter County line.
In KERSHAW COUNTY- An area bounded on the north by I-20 on the south by Richland and Sumter Counties, on the east by SC 521, from I-20 to its intersection with SC 261, thence south on SC 261 to the Sumter County line. On the west by US 601 to the Richland County line.
* In LEXINGTON COUNTY- West side boundary: beginning at the Richland County line on US 321, thence west to I-26, thence southeast on I-26 to the Calhoun County line.
In RICHLAND COUNTY- North side boundary: the Kershaw County line. West side boundary: beginning at the Kershaw County line on US 601, thence south to SC 48 (Bluff Rd.), thence west on SC 48 to US 321. Thence west on US 321 to the Lexington County line. * In SUMTER COUNTY- An area bounded as follows: on the north by the Kershaw County line, on the east by SC 261, on the west by the Richland and Calhoun County lines, and on the south by the CSX Railroad tracks from Pinewood to the Calhoun County line.

In BERKELEY COUNTY- that area bounded on the north by Clarendon, Williamsburg, and Georgetown Counties; on the south by SC 45; on the west by the old Santee Canal; and the east by Charleston County.
In CHARLESTON COUNTY: that area bounded on the west by Berkeley County; on the south by SC 45, on the east by US 701/17, and on the north by Georgetown County.
In GEORGETOWN COUNTY- an area described as follows: beginning at the point where the Williamsburg, Berkeley and Georgetown County lines meet and running north and east along the Georgetown-Williamsburg County lines to U.S. Alternate 17 and thence running along such highway to its intersection with state road 387, thence to state road 24, and running southeast along state road 24 to its intersection with US 17, thence south along US 17 to the Charleston County line, thence west following the Charleston and Berkeley County lines to the point of the beginning.
In WILLIAMSBURG COUNTY- the area described as follows: beginning at the point where state road 48 (River Rd.) crosses the Clarendon County line and following state road 48 until its intersection with SC 375 (Mackey Rd./Gourdin Rd.), thence running along said road to Gourdin, thence along state road 45 (Santee Rd.) to the Georgetown County line, thence south along such line to the Berkeley County line and following said line northwest to the Clarendon County line, thence northeast along said Clarendon County to state road 48.
In CLARENDON COUNTY- that area described as follows: beginning at the intersection of SC 260 and state road 323 (Kenwood Rd.), and running along state road 323 to its intersection with state road 351, thence running along state road 351 to state road 48, thence along state road 48 to the Williamsburg County line, thence along said county line to the Berkeley County line thence west along the Clarendon/Berkeley County line to Wilson Dam, thence north along said dam to SC 260, thence along SC 260 at state road 323.

In HORRY COUNTY – West side boundary – beginning at the NC line on SC 905, thence down SC 905 to the intersection with US 701, thence south on US 701 to the Georgetown County line. East side boundary – beginning at the NC line on US 17, thence down US 17 to the Georgetown County line.
In GEORGETOWN COUNTY – West side boundary – beginning at the Horry County line on US 701, thence south to US 17 in Georgetown. East side boundary – beginning at the Horry County line on US 17, thence south on US 17 to US 701 in Georgetown.

In WILLIAMSBURG COUNTY – the area east of US 52, south of SC 527 and north of US 521.
In GEORGETOWN COUNTY – North side boundary: beginning at the intersection of SC Highway 527 and SC 41, thence north on SC 41 to the intersection of SC 41 and state road 6 (Rose Hill Rd.), thence southeast on state road 6 to the intersection of state road 6 and state road 4 (Choppee Rd.), thence southeast on state road 4 to US 701. Bounded on the east by US 701. (Note that the area east of US 701 is closed as part of the Waccamaw drainage system.)
South side boundary: beginning on US 521 at the Williamsburg County line, thence southeast on US 521 to Georgetown. Bounded on the east by US 701. (Note that the area east of US 701 is closed as part of the Waccamaw drainage system.)

West side boundary – Beginning at US 601 at Edisto River, thence south to the intersection of US 601 and state road 49 (Cannon Bridge Rd.), thence south on state road 49 to the intersection of state road 49 and state road 39, thence southwest on state road 39 to the Bamberg County line.
In BAMBERG COUNTY – West side boundary: beginning at the Orangeburg County line on state road 42 (Cannon Bridge Rd.), thence south to US 78, thence southeast on US 78 to the intersection of US 78 and SC 61, thence southeast on SC 61 to the Colleton County line.

Thence south on state road 137 to the Charleston County line.
In CHARLESTON COUNTY – East side boundary: beginning at the Dorchester County line on state road 38 (Parkers Ferry Road), thence south on state road 38 to the intersection of state road 38 and US 17. Thence west on US 17 to the Colleton County line.
