Last month a deer took a dip in a swimming pool, only the pool was empty and the distressed deer got stuck. The incident took place in South Bend, Indiana on St. Patrick’s Day — an unlucky day for this whitetail.
South Bend Police Department 1st Detail Officers Gutierrez and Kaszas and Animal Control attempted to lure the deer to the pool steps so it could walk out on its own, along with various other tactics. At one point the deer jumped out of the pool, but became frightened and jumped back in.
Eventually, Officer Gutierrez got into the pool and picked the scared deer up in his arms and removed it. “The animal promptly dashed off into the distance and back into the Indiana wilderness,” according to the South Bend Police Department.
