Destination Whitetail, a new television show produced by F+W Media Outdoors Group, debuts on Sportsman Channel’s must-watch “Big Game Wednesday” lineup.
The series debuts Wednesday, June 27 at 8:30 p.m. ET/PT.
Lauren Rich is the host of Destination Whitetail, which investigates the people, places and ways to hunt whitetail throughout North America. In the 43 states with deer populations, their habitat varies as do the traditions and methods used to hunt them. The show follows a variety of hunters using weapons from firearms to archery equipment.

F+W Media Outdoors Group also produces Deer & Deer Hunting TV for NBC Sports and Land of Whitetail on Pursuit.
“I might be too close to the situation to be completely objective, but Destination Whitetail might very well redefine outdoors television,” said Dan Schmidt, editor of Deer & Deer Hunting magazine.
“This is something completely different than what’s already been done,” Schmidt said. “Whitetail Destination digs deep into local cultures and portrays deer hunting for what it truly is: a social event that binds families, friends and communities. It is a show that anyone can enjoy. You need not be a hunter.”
Rich, a hardcore outdoors enthusiast, hunter and angler, will take Destination Whitetail viewers across the country behind the scenes with several of the outdoor industry’s most prolific personalities to document how whitetails have contributed to their success. The unique format will entertain and inform deer hunters. Rich has been hunting and fishing since she was a young girl and is passionate about bringing audiences the most informative deer hunting secrets.
The show will take viewers across North America with visits to Alabama for dog hunting for whitetails as well trips to Kentucky, Minnesota, Texas and Florida.
“Whitetail hunting is always destination TV for our viewers and securing this exclusive series further supports our place as the leader in whitetail programming,” said Graig Hale, VP of Business Development at Sportsman Channel. “This program adds to our lineup of antler-only programming on two nights this season – Big Game Wednesdays and Thursday Traditions.”

A sneak peek at some of the Destination Whitetail lineup:
Alabama Dog Hunting: Think you know how dog hunting for whitetails is done? Think again. Join the president of Alabama’s Dog Hunters Association and his club. The history of dog hunting for whitetails goes back to our country’s roots but often is considered outdated. After watching this episode you may see this process in a different light.

Kentucky’s Deer Secrets: Known for bluegrass, bourbon and horse breeding, Kentucky also is a prime whitetail destination. Destination Whitetail travels to the western region for one of the country’s earliest bow seasons … if our crew can get there through one wicked storm.
Nugent Birthday Hunt: Join birthday basher Ted Nugent at the YO Ranch in Texas! We’re with one of the most prolific names in hunting, a guy on the frontline of hunters rights for more than 30 years. Controversial? Naa, that’s just Ted’s passion. See what it’s like to hang with him when Nugent hosts his annual birthday bash at this iconic Texas Ranch.
Tale of Two Cities: We cover urban bow hunts in two northern Minnesota cites. Two Harbors puts on its first bow hunt framed after Duluth’s successful model, which is now in its seventh season. But patterning “big city bucks” is a unique talent learned by a few local, veteran bowhunters and we’re going to get a few of those secrets.
Behind the Scenes with the Pat & Nicole: Juggling family and filming is just part of the controlled chaos that is part of Pat & Nicole Reeve’s life. From kids in school, travel, running a business, trying to manage about 50 acres and hunting, come get a glimpse to learn how they keep it all together.
Texas Drought: Before the rains came in Texas last year, the 100-year drought was tough on the deer population and all the people who depend on the land for their livelhood. We look at the colorful history and chase deer in the wide open spaces of the Texas Panhandle.
Florida’s Beach Bucks: White sand beaches and deer typically aren’t thought about together. But watch to see how deer hunting in one Florida beach community is a thriving industry.
