Do deer need free checking?
A deer caused damage at the PNC Bank in Decatur, IL on June 5. According to eyewitnesses, the deer ran across North Water Street and through a parking lot before crashing through a window into the bank shortly after 7 PM.
The deer was bleeding from a nose wound that left bloody deposits on the floor and windows as it tried to escape. A witness watching from a nearby restaurant said he saw the deer jump at the windows about four times trying to get out.
The deer was brought under control when Macon County Animal Control Warden Paulette Smith shot it with a tranquilizer dart. She and a Decatur police officer removed the deer from the bank. Smith said the animal would probably be euthanized.
