Hunter Kills Monster Buck at 27 Weeks Pregnant, 2 Years After Treestand Fall

This year marks two years since Cynthia Wiford of Ohio fell 16 feet while climbing into her ladder stand, leaving her with a spinal cord injury. Since her fall, she’s not only recovered but has been recovering big bucks each year.

“Six months ago today my life changed in an instant. Losing my balance and falling 16 feet while climbing into my ladder stand replays in my mind everyday,” said Wiford on her Instagram in April 2021.

On Oct. 31, 2021, one year to the day after being released from rehab in a wheelchair, Wiford bagged a Brown County bruiser during a morning hunt — the ultimate redemption.

This year, Wiford killed the buck of a lifetime that she’d been hunting all season. She made a 190-yard shot while 20 feet up in a hang-on stand — and at 27 weeks pregnant!

In an Instagram post six months after the accident, Wiford wrote, “Two rods and four screws later…everything happens for a reason so you can catch me overcoming this and living life to the fullest!” She has certainly done that.
